Macquarie Asset Management is seeking a Portfolio Management Associate Director who will support the growth of Macquarie Asset Management’s Real Assets fund management business. This will be executed through assuming various responsibilities for Macquarie Asset Management associated Luxembourg corporate services activities, including the participation on the boards of funds and holding companies. Additionally you will also lead key aspects of Macquarie Asset Management’s AIFM’s portfolio management delegation arrangements.

To be successful you will need to have a strong understanding of a variety of functions with experience in the alternative investment funds industry across a fund’s lifecycle – from the establishment of funds, implementation of investments, management of Luxembourg investment holding companies through to the realisation of investments.

This is a hands-on position that provides significant involvement in the operations of Macquarie Asset Management’s investment and management structures. You will have ongoing interaction with multiple specialist internal teams across legal, finance and tax activities, as well as management of external service providers.

Your responsibilities will require you to:

  • support transaction execution for new funds and their investments, divestments and ongoing requirements, focusing on Luxembourg-related matters
  • work in parallel with the different functions including governance, legal, finance and tax in Luxembourg and other jurisdictions to ensure compliance with Luxembourg legal and tax requirements as well as Macquarie Group policies
  • act as a local Board member across Macquarie Asset Management’s Luxembourg SPVs and General Partner entities, chair board meetings and own the stakeholder relationships with external independent directors
  • take responsibility for certain functions of Macquarie Asset Management’s Luxembourg AIFM, specifically the implementation and monitoring of portfolio management delegation arrangements for certain of Macquarie Asset Management’s Real Assets funds as well as organisation and coordination of the Real Assets Committee meetings
  • you will also participate in transformation and improvement projects to increase the efficiency and scalability of MAM’s Luxembourg platform

To be successful you will likely have a university degree in conjunction with alternative investment experience, partnered with experience in a management or leadership role. You will have extensive experience working in Luxembourg with Luxembourg fund structures and the AIFM regulations, prior board experience and a good understanding of key Luxembourg legal, tax and financial consideration for holding companies, the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams within Macquarie Asset Management and manage external service providers based in different locations. You will have the ability to multi-task and manage priorities against key deadlines, be able to work independently and demonstrate flexibility, leadership, adaptability, resilience, and teamwork in a growing and dynamic environment.

Finally, you will have strong verbal and written communication skills as well as be fluent in English.
