Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC), helps people living with diabetes make progress in achieving glycemic control. The FreeStyle Libre family of products will virtually eliminate the pain and hassle associated with routine blood glucose finger sticks. With FreeStyle Libre products, people living with diabetes and the healthcare professionals that care for them will gain access to dense glucose data that can be used to identify and treat glycemic control issues (leading to improvements in HbA1c and reduction in hypoglycemic events).

The Business Manager reports to the General Manager, Emerging Asia and serves as a member of the ADC Emerging Asia Leadership Team. This role is expected to execute business plans by to achieve the yearly assigned business and financial objectives for the affiliate, with up to 50% travel expected.

MAIN / MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Make sensor based Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) and Ambulatory Glucose Profiling (AGP) the new standard of care for all people with diabetes

Liberate people with diabetes from the hassles of glucose monitoring via fingerstick and help Health Care Professionals make more informed treatment decisions

Execute the commercialization of Abbott’s game-changing FreeStyle Libre sensing technology in collaboration with local distribution partners

Become #1 glucose monitoring company for people with diabetes

Develop and execute compliant sustainable growth strategy for Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) business in affiliate under an appropriate operating model including distribution structure and partnerships

Define the long-range strategic plan and ensures that plan objectives are achieved

Deliver on the financial objectives for the affiliate; holds profit and loss responsibility

Effectively manages business growth in Hospital, Retail, and e-commerce channels in a sustainable, profitable manner

Works with internal and external partners (e.g., distributor, marketing and public affairs agencies, customer service) to focus on new customer acquisition and retention

Ensure that all business activities for both ADC and partners (e.g. distributors) are conducted in accordance with Abbott Code of Ethics and local government laws

Manages and supports ADC internal direct reports and the distributor in achieving the business objectives

Builds and maintains relationships with decision-makers in the local health care system, government agencies, regulatory bodies, key opinion leaders and community

Ensure all key accounts are well covered by distributors to achieve sales & marketing objectives

Oversees Customer Service activities and achieves targets for customer satisfaction

Anticipates market trends and implements the necessary changes to meet customer needs

Assesses market data, determines, and prioritizes potential market growth opportunities

Plan for field activities such as product launches, road shows, product training and symposiums to create product awareness among health professionals and public.

Implement plans for product demos, evaluation, placement, complaint handlings and training for customers whenever the needs arise

Works closely with regional team and local country shared service to implement business processes and execute key business initiatives, ensure local Regulatory and Quality requirements are fulfilled

Act as Sales and Marketing Coach by spending time with ADC / distributor sales and marketing teams, out in the field and providing feedback on performance gaps

Applies and communicates Abbott values in all decisions internally and externally

Support regulatory affairs matters

Be the management representatives for ADC for local audit

Qualifications/ Experience:

Bachelor’s degree, with more than 5 years business unit management and/or P&L management experience, preferably in the healthcare sector

Proven sales experience in working with distributors and dealing with KOLs and Key Accounts in both retail & hospital, and e-commerce environment

Strong-, and proven execution skills

‘Can-do’ and ‘getting-things’ done mindset

Knowledge & experience in diabetes and medical device category will be advantageous

Familiar with standard software packages such as word processing, spreadsheet application and Power Point

Proficient both in written and spoken English

Able to work independently and as part of a regional team

Analytical, energetic & strive in a highlly result-oriented environment

Team player with strong communication, facilitation & interpersonal skills
