Job description: Cloud engineers with AWS Serverless and TypeScript experience are required to join our Engineering Team to work on some of the world’s largest, high scale eCommerce platforms and online customer journeys in our offices in Portugal.

Due to continued growth, our capabilities in Portugal are expanding and we are looking for Cloud engineers to join our team. This is a really exciting time to join us and work with some of the worlds’ best known brands and retailers such as Bosch, DFS, Johnson & Johnson, MAC, Nestlé, Sainsbury’s, Selfridges, Shell, Specialized, Tempur and Tiffany & Co

Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for talented developers to join an exciting greenfield project as part of our experienced team of Cloud developers, platform engineers and data engineers.

This is a great opportunity to get involved from the beginning and will require you to be comfortable working with serverless technologies in small autonomous squads working as part of a larger programme.

We keep our knowledge fresh by continually looking for new technologies and sharing what we’ve learned. As part of our team, you will actively enjoy learning new technologies and developing your skills, and will contribute to this process.

The techy bit….we need:

  • Developing complex cloud-native serverless applications
  • Experience using AWS Lambda, preferably written in TypeScript (knowledge of Node.js is useful)
  • Prior experience using AWS Serverless products, including API Gateway, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB etc
  • Implementing a range of integration patterns, from GraphQL to SaaS APIs to FTP.
  • Understanding traditional Design Patterns
  • Understanding DevOps principles (ideally with experience of Monorepos and Azure DevOps)
  • Understanding an Infrastructure-as-Code language (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform)
  • Test-Driven development, with a quality-driven mindset
  • Communicating, with excellent written and spoken skills
  • Data Modelling
  • Solid understanding of VCS (ideally git)

If you know some of this even better!

  • Experience of modern eCommerce platforms
  • Contribute to Open Source projects
  • Experience developing multi-site applications
  • Diagrams-as-code
  • Understanding of modern authentication protocols (OAuth2, OIDC)
  • Consideration of cross cutting concerns (e.g. Observability, Security)
