We invite applications for an exceptional all round hands on Engineering Director to join Biogas Systems with a proven history of working on waste management projects ranging from routine monitoring to large infrastructure related projects. This experience involves the design and manufacture of biogas equipment such as flares, blowers control systems and monitoring systems. The role requires a high level of expertise and liaising with a wide range of project stakeholders.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the main responsibilities of the Engineering Director will be to work within project teams’ delivering construction projects, working across all business activities to provide a leading role in providing equipment and expertise for management of biogas and leachate associated with landfills and anaerobic digestion systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the project teams in order to ensure compliance with Client and Biogas Systems’ processes.
  • Design and manufacture of biogas and leachate treatment systems.
  • Providing technical advice in relation to LFG management and wider environmental management issues.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of LFG collection systems.
  • Reviewing reports and data to evaluate engineering management options from both technical and commercial aspects.
  • Obtaining regulatory approvals from all levels of Australian and International governments where required for all equipment supplied by the company.
  • Assisting with the compiling of tender submissions including writing methodologies and providing costings.

The Engineering Director must possess the following skills/qualifications/experience:

  • A Degree in Engineering and/or Science or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience working as an Engineer in landfill gas.
  • LFG and anaerobic digester experience.
  • Construction of flare systems.
  • Construction of leachate treatment systems.
  • Experience in Software design applications desirable.
  • Experience in Safety in design desirable.
  • Experience in Civil Construction desirable.
