Position Summary

Reporting to the Regional Human Resources Director WEMEA, responsible for supporting all Human Resources related activities for World Courier’s operations in the UK & Ireland, with direct support to specific Managing Directors.

This position is available as a fixed term contract, expected duration 10-12 months.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the HR function in UK and Ireland
  • Responsible for all strategic HR planning and implementation
  • Responsible for full HR compliance
  • Seek ways to ensure that HR is seen as a value adding function
  • Drive HR forwards and create a high performing culture.
  • Implement bespoke and brand training.
  • Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems
  • Ensure that all HR deadlines are adhered to.
  • Planning for staff career advancement and succession
  • Maintains and promotes positive and professional working relationships with associates and management.
  • Analyze training needs to design employee development
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as new hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
  • Facilitate change in organization, to ensure smooth transition for all levels
  • Coordinate yearly performance appraisal of staff
  • Drafts, develops or updates Country employment and personnel policies, programs, procedures and benefits
  • Ensure that all amendments to contracts are processed, with the prior approval of the relevant line manager and the National Director.
  • Assist supervisors and departmental heads in administering appropriate disciplinary procedures.
  • Provide advice and counsel to the employees on HR queries and employee relation matters including disciplinary/grievance handling
  • Participate in local manpower authorities surveys, salary surveys, etc.
  • Ensure local practices are aligned with global HR direction

What your background should look like

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Requires broad training in all HR related fields with a proven track record of over 5 years
  • Ideally CIPD qualified but not necessary or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Fluent in English
  • Adept at handling sensitive and confidential situations
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to resolve associate issues quickly and efficiently
  • Familiarity with UK and Ireland employment laws
  • Demonstrated ER experience in both UK and Ireland
  • Experienced in, and passionate about, delivering training to employees and leaders, particularly: career development and leadership competencies
  • Analytical skills and mindset. History of utilising these skills to advise business with data based decisions and solutions.
  • Ability to represent a positive and professional image
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
