The Role
Building on the high growth and success that Railsbank has experienced, we have exciting plans for further expansion. You will be a key member of the Payments Team, reporting into the Senior Treasury Manager SG.
As the Payments Specialist you will monitor and instigate payments for customers and investigate queries in relation to transactions, ensuring customers have great service.

Key responsibilities:
● Daily processing of all payments within cut off, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
● Inputting of scheme settlement payments on a daily basis (Visa & Mastercard)
● Managing the defunding process from customer ledgers to settlement accounts
● Assisting in the creation of monthly reporting of payments and returns volumes
● Creating and maintaining procedural documentation
● Support for release/authorisation of payment releases in line with ISO policy
● Assistance with processing refunds to Program Managers, returns to source
● Prompt and accurate processing of indemnity claims received from financial institutions
● Monitor and instigate payments and interbank, including FAST, SWIFT, ACH & FX deals and other related payments
● Investigate queries relating to all transactions
● Triaging and investigating tickets in relevant queues on ticket management system – continuous monitoring to ensure smooth customer experience and resolution
● Monitor work items to ensure that SLA’s are met with a view to exceeding them
● Assisting the Treasury and Reconciliation teams with any queries
● Monitoring customer collateral and pre-fund balances
● Generate and deliver continuous improvement to processes to enhance client service
● Work with internal Product teams to support rollout of scalable features/rails
● Investigate errors & complaints to establish root causes and take action to avoid repetition and support resolution

We are looking for the following skills:
– Excellent Communicator. Beyond knowing what to say and how to say it, you communicate effectively across the experience / management spectrum, can ‘translate’ between technical and
non-technical teams, and can empathetically communicate a customer’s pain to internal Railsbank teams
– Resilient. You’re able to withstand and recover quickly from difficult situations
– Market aware. Good knowledge of today’s major financial services, open banking and payments technologies, players and major up-and-coming trends
– Adaptable. Dynamic approach adapting to changing requirements with the ability to manage multiple opportunities concurrently Fluent in English. Other regional languages would be preferable
– You are a team-oriented person with excellent written and verbal communication skills and are able to talk easily to people at all levels
– You have good organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast moving, dynamic environment that is fun, but serious as well (we are responsible for other people’s money and we take this and our
regulatory responsibilities very seriously)

Role Location and Hours

Unless agreed otherwise the role will be a full time role and you will be based in our Kuala Lumpur office in Malaysia.
