Department: Department of Environmental Management, FESRD, SUA in Nitra, Mariánska 10, 949 76 Nitra, e-mail:

Objectives of the topic:

The aim is the elaboration of a new agroclimatic zoning as a basis for the cultivation of selected field, garden and energy coppice in the conditions of the changing climate of Slovakia (climatic drought and its dynamics and spatial changes). Agroecosystems provide and are, at the same time, also dependent on various ecosystem services. In addition to services, they can also be a source of ecosystem disservices. Negative effects on ecosystem services reduce their capacity and / or manifest themselves as negative effects on the environment. In connection with the expected changes in the growing season, we can expect an increase in the negative impact of ecosystem burdens (water and wind erosion, biological invasions, etc.).

Description of the professional content of the postdoctoral post:

Professional specification: The role of the postdoctoral researcher will be active participation in the creation of map data for the new agro-climatic zoning of selected plants in the changing climate of Slovakia and cooperation in identifying and evaluating changes in the structure and functions of (agro) ecosystems and in ecosystem services and burdens in the conditions of Slovakia. The prerequisites for participation are the completed doctoral studies of the applicant in the field of ecology, environment or other relevant fields (landscaping, climatology, hydrology, etc.).

Methodological knowledge required: The applicant is expected to have a good knowledge of advanced applications in MS Excel (working with large data sets and their editing), mastery of work in GIS and experience in creating map data.

Minimum criteria for the publishing activity output during the postdoc post: The basic outputs of the work after the first year of research will be zoning maps (co-authored) and at least one publication in periodicals indexed in CC (main author or co-author; at least in the evaluation process).
