  • Part-time (0.5 FTE) HEO 8 fixed term 5 years, offering a base salary of $109K – $123K p.a. pro-rata, plus leave loading and generous employer’s contribution to superannuation

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for a Training Coordinator, this role plays an integral role in the delivery of the Growing Minds Australia operations. Growing Minds Australia (GMA) is an exciting new child and youth clinical trials network funded by NHMRC Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) and led by and a team of 60 investigators. The clinical trials network has been funded for 5 years to increase the collaboration, coordination and efficiency in conducting clinical trials in child and youth mental health in Australia. You will coordinate and oversee the training provided by Growing Minds Australia. The role will provide operational support to the project, coordinating the implementation and delivery of training programs in child and youth mental health across internal and external stakeholders. The role will include managing multiple stakeholders and communications, ensuring effective collaboration and teamwork within the project and across its stakeholders.

About you

  • A PhD in Clinical Psychology
  • Experience managing a diverse group of key internal/external stakeholders on large or complex projects
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively developing and delivering training programs in child and youth mental health to practitioners from a wide range of discipline
  • Extensive experience in working as a clinical psychologist and delivering evidence-based interventions in child and youth mental health
  • Previous experience working on clinical trials
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with a variety of matters
  • Developed and delivered training programs in child and youth mental health
  • Delivered evidence-based child and family intervention for child mental health problems
  • An ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve required outcomes.


This position is designated as involving child-related work. To undertake or remain in this position, you are required to apply for and obtain a Working With Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012.
